Assistant Legal Counsel

Rentalcars.com - the world's largest online car hire booking service - seeks to recruit a commercial / IT solicitor to work as Legal Counsel at our offices in Manchester city centre. We are a leading e-commerce company and we are part of the multi-billion dollar NASDAQ listed travel company Priceline Group.


Rentalcars.com is the world's largest online car hire booking service - arranging over 8.5 million rentals a year in more than 50,000 locations worldwide. We employ over 1500 people from 64 countries across 3 sites in Manchester city centre and we are growing at a significant pace.

We have been busy recruiting some of the biggest names in the tech sector to come and join us in Manchester and we are now looking for an additional lawyer to join our team.

You will join our great team of lawyers, working in Manchester's coolest offices right here in the city centre. We want and need our lawyers to be involved in everything that we do - and we are doing a lot! Not only are we growing exponentially we are constantly looking for new and innovative ways to be involved in the customer journey of ground transportation and car rental. Involve leading technology and you get a glimpse of the vision we have for the future of our business.

In this role you will be involved in a huge variety of projects and legal matters, including:

· Drafting and negotiating global supply contracts
· Assisting with the development of new product streams
· Dealing with our commercial team regarding new suppliers and sales queries
· Assisting the business in relation to the consumer journey and consumer protection issues
· Assisting with regulatory queries relating to the development of 'add on' products
· Various corporate related matters including governance and general administration
· Become the first point of contact for legal queries for your dedicated areas of work

Who we are looking for is just as important if not more important than your current skill base. You should be a commercially minded lawyer that looks to question the usual way of doing things, be interested in working in a tech led environment and be someone that is looking to take control of projects - not just waiting to be told what to do. Don't worry if you don't have all the experience that we might need - we can teach that, all you need to bring is a genuine interest in being a part of a company like Rentalcars.com, commercial awareness and energy.
