Private Client Solicitor

We have been instructed on an unmissable new role within a highly regarded firm who are looking to recruit a Solicitor to join their reputable Private Client department. The firm is based in York and is a regional practice with a long and successful track record of offering high quality advice to businesses, families and individuals. The firm has a significant presence in Yorkshire's highly competitive legal market and are recognised as specialists at a national level in a number of legal sectors.

The firm has a strong Private Client team and due to the influx of good quality of work they have coming in, this is a great time to join the department.

The Role:

You will be handling your own Private Client caseload which will include estate planning, inheritance tax and capital gains tax advice, agricultural estate work including advising business owners. It is essential that you will have proven exposure to agricultural matters in order to be considered for this role.

You can also expect to be drafting wills, trusts and ancillary documents and administration of trusts. You will be handling elderly client affairs, to include welfare law, preparation of tax returns and general planning, lasting powers of attorney/enduring powers of attorney, inheritance act claims (but not litigation), possible inclusion of residential property-related work, but not conveyancing.

You will also receive support from the Partners where needed on more complex matters.

The Candidate:

The firm is ideally looking to recruit a Solicitor with a minimum of 2 years PQE. However, they are happy to have flexibility on this and will therefore consider candidates whose PQE falls closely outside of this range. Experience handling agricultural matters is not essential, but those who have experience in this area will be at an advantage. As long as you have a keen interest in this area and happy to learn, then our client is happy to consider you.
