Leading Cheshire based Financial Services company seeks to recruit an experienced Consumer Credit / Regulatory Lawyer to join its experienced in-house team. This role is ideally suited to solicitors / barristers with experience of Consumer Credit Law, FCA Regulations, CONC, Unfair Terms, Payment Services etc. This opportunity is open to applicants seeking permanent work or a temporary assignment.

Our Cheshire based client is a leading provider of financial products to consumers. To support the business with the development and marketing of new products and services, and to ensure regulatory compliance with existing and upcoming financial regulation, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Consumer Credit / Regulatory Lawyer to join the in-house legal team.

Specific responsibilities are likely to include: advising on new and upcoming legislation; assessing changes to processes and procedures; helping to create new products and services; assessing risk and assisting with compliance; signing off marketing, advertising and product promotions; helping assess and develop new terms & conditions; liaising with regulators; and advising on a wide range of relevant regulatory matters - Consumer Credit / Finance Law, Data Protection, Unfair Terms / Codes of Practice, CONC, Payment Services and other FCA regulations.

The role of Consumer Credit / Regulatory Lawyer requires a Solicitor / Barrister with existing experience of Financial Services Regulations related to consumer products. Knowledge of the Consumer Credit Act and consumer finance is essential.
