Our Greater Manchester based client seeks to recruit a Commercial Solicitor (1-3 years' PQE) to join its in-house legal department as Legal Counsel / Adviser. This is a superb opportunity to undertake UK and international legal work, whilst working for a long-established, dynamic and forward thinking multi-million turnover business.

Our client is a long-established Greater Manchester company. It has its head office in the North-West and it has operations throughout the UK and into Europe, the Middle-East, the Americas and Africa. It is a dynamic and forward thinking company which provides a B2B service to multinational companies, SMEs and public sector bodies.

To support the company as it continues to expand, our client seeks to recruit a Commercial Solicitor to join its in-house legal department as Legal Counsel / Adviser. The role reports into the Head of Legal and the post-holder will interact directly with senior stakeholders and middle-management.

The role is primarily commercial law in focus and as a Commercial Solicitor you will have responsibility for reviewing, drafting and negotiating a broad range of general commercial contracts, as well as providing legal and contractual advice and guidance to internal stakeholders. This is a superb opportunity to undertake a broad in-house legal caseload and to work on matters in the UK and abroad.

Specific responsibilities are expected to include: reviewing, drafting and negotiating contract terms & conditions; contract risk analysis; drafting bespoke contracts for services; helping to set up and maintain a contract database; advising on bid/tender documentation; supporting on legal, governance and compliance issues; assisting with the management of disputes and litigation; supporting on disposals and acquisitions; and assisting with the preparation and delivery of legal training.

The successful Commercial Solicitor should have experience of drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of general commercial contracts, and possess a working knowledge of company and contract law. Additional legal knowledge and/or experience across other stated areas of responsibility would be an advantage.
