Our client is a well established Law Firm with offices in the Greater Manchester area.

They are now looking to appoint a Debt Recovery Case manager.

Role 

  • To provide high quality, efficient, customer orientated legal service to internal and external clients.  Underake an efficient debt collection service on behalf of internal/external clients and carry out other litigation work as may be allocated from time to time that you are suitably trained to do. 
  • To undertake matters which you are competent to conduct having due regard to the policies and procedures defined in the Office Manual relating to your areas of work.
  • To conduct debt recovery litigation for all internal and external clients including issuing court proceedings and undertaking the enforcement of judgements.
  • Perform fee earning work accurately, reliably and in accordance with the firm's quality and risk management procedures and accreditations.
  • Ensure proper control of work in progress, billing and cash collection.
  • Attendance at most or all partnership and other office or departmental meetings, leading by example with contributions made at and subsequent to such events.
  • To undertake debt recovery litigation work as allocated to the department including the conduct of court proceedings. 
  • To draft legal documentation as required.
  • To support other litigation departments through training and the provision of appropriate legal information in relation to your respective competence.
  • Provide leadership, supervision and training to all staff that they oversee or supervise, whether on an office or departmental basis. All partners should provide direction and encouragement to staff and should be careful to support the practice line on issues.
  • Be effective in developing new work from existing clients.
  • Gain or maintain IT skills appropriate to modern legal practice, such as ability to send, forward and respond to e-mails with or without attachments, conduct research on internet and ensure proper filing of all data.
  • Understand the main uses and applications of the office telephone system - e.g. be able to re-route calls, set up conference calls, etc.

Candidate Profile and experience:

  • Will have worked in professional services 
  • Must have experience of Debt Recovery or Credit Control
  • Ideally will have worked in the Legal Sector
  • Knowledge of drafting legal documentation
  • Familiar with debt recovery court process and proceedings
