A brand new expansionary opportunity for a talented and experienced paralegal with a background in debt recovery to join a busy small office in Newcastle who focus on Court enforcement work. 

My clients are established in the London market place and have recently acquired a new existing business in Newcastle which is currently in the process of expanding which includes the appointment of a Court process manager.  

The role will involve :

Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all court process within the business. This will include the transfer of judgments, tribunal awards and European orders into the High Court ensuring that information is correct and any queries are dealt with quickly and efficiently. You will ensure that a good relationship is maintained with the courts and that instructions are turned around as quickly as possible. You will also provide regular updates and reports around transfer up times, issues and challenges.

Core Duties & Responsibilities:

•              • Managing the Transfer Up team and overseeing the departments processes

•              • Monitoring resources and creating, implementing and maintaining management metrics

•              • Identifying resource and system requirements and producing a business case for implementation

•              • Reviewing ongoing matters on a regular basis that fall outside of service levels

•              • Tracking external court issues and monitoring turnaround times to ensure that the courts can handle volume and the correct are selected.

•              • Dealing with court queries and ensuring that complicated instructions are transferred up correctly

•              • Providing the board with regular updates including challenges and issues

•              • Providing support and assistance with complex queries and orders to other departments within the business

•              • Providing training and ad hoc support to the transfer up team and other departments within the business

•              • Ensuring response service levels are met and maintained

•              • Liaising with clients to query any order discrepancies returned from the court

•              • Managing the transfer up team ensuring that the department is resourced correctly and highlighting any issues to your manager

•              • Prioritise the teams work load and monitor live instructions

 

An experienced paralegal with a background in civil litigation and or debt recovery would be encouraged to apply.
