Your new role
Reporting into the head of the offshore claims team, this is a Senior Claims Executive role, suitable for a UK qualified lawyer with insurance sector and claims experience. You will estimate, investigate and settle P&I claims from third parties, manage defence disputes and liaise with reinsurers, surveyors, external counsel and senior management effectively, ensuring clients are well informed as to progress. At any one time, you could be responsible for up to 200 files. You will also be expected to advise on commercial contracts from time to time as an added service. Working as part of a talented and well regarded team, you will offer sound commercial judgement, strong negotiation skills and exceptional stakeholder management ability at the table. The role will include significant client contact, and will involve periodic international travel.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified lawyer, with 2-5 PQE (or equivalent experience). You will have reputable law firm experience in the insurance sector, particularly regarding claims resolution and litigation experience. You may have either P&I experience or exposure to similar matters within a shipping company. You will have attained excellent academics and possess excellent communication and stakeholder management ability. You will be comfortable at the negotiating table, and be willing to travel from time to time. You will relish working in a client-focused role, where you will be the business' mouthpiece for external stakeholders.
