Reporting to the Director & General Manager the Legal Counsel will handle all legal matters referring to the Client's business in the UK including compliance in relation to construction and property development.

Client Details

The Client is a world famous property development company with strong links to China and Hong Kong.

Description

Legal Counsel will be required:

  • To provide legal expert advice in relation to commercial contracts, laws and regulations.
  • To work closely with all control functions such as Construction, Planning, Projects, Cost Control (as well as Marketing, HR and Finance.
  • To advise on general Legal Risk Management and compliance.
  • Provide legal advice to business managers to ensure that legal issues are identified and resolved and that legal risk is managed appropriately.

    • Profile

    The successful candidate is likely to:

    • be a UK qualified lawyer
    • with 8 years or more of post qualification experience

    They will have practiced law either at a top 50 chambers ranked law firm, working on construction and development matters, or have worked in house within a respected legal team.

    The following attributes are desirable but are not absolute requirements:

    • Previous experience of working in the legal team of a property developer
    • Previous international experience in a commercial or property development sphere

    Cantonese and Mandarin speakers will be looked upon extremely favourably.
