Legal Manager

Commercial lawyer required to establish, develop and build a legal function for a market leading business based in the North Yorkshire countryside. The group, which turns over almost £500m and employees in excess of 3000 people, has gone through a significant transformation having recently been acquired by a PE house. The group looks is set to roughly double its size in the foreseeable future, as a result of both organic growth in addition to identifying potential acquisitions.

Reporting directly to the CFO and working alongside key stakeholders in the business, your role will be to assist this hugely successful group though the next part of the journey, which could include IPO.

Lawyer with some previous experience of working In-house would be useful given the fluidity of the role. Nevertheless, communicative, pragmatic and enthusiastic commercial advisers currently in Private Practice are equally welcome to apply, given the culture compatibility is key. Your first objective would be to approach the business and see where the (newly established) legal function can add value.

You'll advise and work alongside finance, procurement, suppliers, customers and HR, in addition to liaising with external advisors. A commercial generalist with an approachable and solutions orientated approach is ideal, whilst any exposure to corporate transactions would prove useful.

Salary is commensurate with experience and will include a car allowance, bonus and benefits package in line with In-house roles and we would anticipate this person having at least 5 years PQE.
