You will play an integral part in the further development of the Legal/Business Conduct team, consisting of 3 team members: the Head of Legal, the Senior Legal Counsel and a Transparency & Monitoring Manager.
Responsibilities
In this newly created position, you will report to the Head of Legal, and advise the Benelux business on a variety of legal topics, such as contract law, pharmaceutical law, advertising in the health care sector, unfair competition, compliance and business conduct, data privacy law, clinical research contracts and litigation. You will work and liaise with colleagues in the EMEA Legal Team in Stockley Park (UK) and Foster City (US).
As a member of the Netherlands and Belux teams you will be a strategic resource representing the legal function, acting as a strong business partner to the Head of Legal, the General Managers, the local senior management teams and the internal clients such as Commercial, Medical, Regulatory, Market Access etc. You will independently develop templates and draft tailored contracts where necessary, approve promotional and non-promotional materials and internal / external events organized or supported by Gilead from legal/compliance perspective and define the litigation strategy. Furthermore, you will train employees on legal topics, e.g. trainings on pharmaceutical law, anticorruption, business conduct, compliance codices, competition & antitrust law and dawn raids.
Knowledge, Experience & Skills:
- Fully qualified Dutch lawyer
- A minimum of 6 years of industry and/or law firm experience
- excellent understanding and knowledge of relevant legal, regulatory, compliance and business environment in biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries
- experienced in working in an international environment, ideally in an Anglo-American culture
- ability to quickly understand business needs
- fluent command of Dutch and English, preferably French
