Construction Associate
A highly ambitious and well regarded UK law firm looking to appoint an experienced Solicitor into their Nottingham based Construction & Engineering team. The firm's construction practice has a long standing reputation of supporting some of the most influential businesses in the UK and internationally, advising on significant construction projects. They pride themselves on being recognised as unique within the industry. The group carry out all contentious and non-contentious work however this particular opening is for a specialist with non-contentious experience.
The general duties and responsibilities involved include the following:
- Running client meetings
- Taking client instructions
- Providing clear advice face-to-face and in correspondence
- Drafting documents, letters and contracts, specific to individual clients
- Negotiating with clients and other related professionals to secure objectives
- Working in a team environment; assisting and supervising more junior fee earners, delegating appropriate work to paralegals and supporting more senior team members on more complex matters
- Taking a proactive approach to business development.
Candidate profile:
- You will have a minimum of 3 years PQE in dealing with construction law matters
- Experience of drafting and negotiating amendments to standard form contracts (e.g. JCT/NEC) as well as bespoke forms of contract, appointment and collateral warranties on a range of different scale projects
- Some supervisory experience would be ideal.
