Locum Principal Childcare Solicitor

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Locum Senior Childcare Solicitor to manage their existing Childcare team in a Local Authority in the West Midlands. The assignment is for an initial period of 3 months with the strong possibility of further extension whilst the authority recruit on a permanent basis.

Applications are welcome from Qualified Solicitors, Barristers or Legal Executives with previous experience working within a Local Government organisation and with management experience.

Duties will include:

• Practicing as the Senior Lawyer and Team Manager for a medium sized team of Solicitors and Legal Assistants
• Regularly attending Leadership and Board meetings
• Handling an individual Childcare caseload
• Attending a range of hearings and undertaking all own advocacy

Experience of acting as the lead legal advisor on high profile and complex Council cases would be desired for this particular role.

The position is offering an attractive rate of between £40-45 per hour, this is flexible and will be reviewed upon applicant in regards to experience.
