Lead Lawyer

Lead Lawyer – East Midlands

Our client is a world leader in its field and is going through continuous growth. They are seeking an experienced lawyer to lead their UK and Ireland legal contracts function.

This is an important role and will oversee a team of up to 7 lawyers within the function. You will take an active role in developing long term legal strategy and assess and report on contractual risk management.

The position will manage a department responsible for ensuring that the business contracts with clients and consumers and are created and managed in accordance with FCA rules and other regulation and guidelines as well as adhering to the business’ high standards. The function operates as a first line of defence in the contract process.

Requirements

• Qualified as a solicitor or barrister with over 10 years* relevant post-qualification experience
• You must have demonstrable leadership qualities and experience managing lawyers within a team
• Extensive experience drafting, negotiating and advising on commercial contracts ideally in a technology setting
• Knowledge of data protection, competition, intellectual property, public sector contracting and consumer protection would be preferred
• Working in a regulated environment (FCA) would be extremely advantageous
• In-house experience would be beneficial
