Our client, a rapidly growing property services company which acts for a large number of landlord companies, seeks an in-house Property Lawyer with 2+ PQE to work within its legal and leasehold management team.
Reporting directly to and working closely with the Company Solicitor / General Counsel, the role will involve a broad range of transactional, disputes and compliance related work., including:
- Reviewing and assessing requests from leaseholders, freehold owners, developers, management companies and other third parties for easements, consents, changes of use, commercial alterations and underletting, consents or title variations;
- Reviewing and assessing post-completion transactions arising from Developer Options and other matters agreed as part of portfolio acquisition;
- Dealing with the grant of Wayleave Agreements for broadband and telephone providers, and assisting with other commercial portfolio opportunities;
- Analysing title structures and assisting with improving the operational property database as well as due diligence and acquisition procedures;
- Providing advice, support and training to the leasehold management team in dealing with more complex consents and assignment formalities;
- Handling RTM claims and investigating pre-action property litigation matters;
- Assisting and advising on enfranchisement requests and issues relating to the enfranchisement of properties;
- Liaising with and instructing solicitors/surveyors on matters where informal terms are negotiated outside the statutory route;
- Providing advice, training and support across the company on property-related legal, leasehold and L&T matters;
- Updating the company on relevant changes in the law and practice;
- Assisting the Company Solicitor in dealing with general In-House Counsel duties as necessary, including Data Protection, compliance and other regulatory and compliance matters.
We are keen to hear from E&W qualified Solicitors (2+ PQE), who have gained substantial exposure to non-contentious residential and commercial property, enfranchisement, conveyancing and general property transactional work, either in private practice or in-house.
The successful candidate will have a strong academic record, commercial acumen and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within a commercial organisation.
