Counsel is required to be responsible for providing focused and strategic litigation and dispute resolution advice, with a strong focus on construction matters, to senior management and business stakeholders across the UK business.

Description
The role involves managing and resolving disputes of the UK business. There is a strong focus on construction. The disputes would be on a wide ranging issues including:
There is also a requirement to provide training to the business on an ad hoc basis and in a more structured format as the business requires as well as to manage external legal counsel, optimising use of resources and negotiating cost effective fee arrangements.
Profile
The successful candidate will be likely to be a UK Qualified solicitor (or Commonwealth equivalent) with at least 5 years post qualification experience working on contentious construction matters either in a respected in house legal team or at a top 50 ranked private practice firm.
Excellent knowledge of the suite of construction contracts is imperative and a working knowledge of PFI contracts is desirable.
