Excellent opening for an experienced UK Corporate Governance Consultant/Asst Company Secretary with ICSA Qualification to join an experienced team as Assistant Manager
Purpose of the role
• To provide ‘on-the-job’ technical and administrative support to a team of Corporate Governance Consultants, working closely with other departments within Jordans Trust Company Limited and the Jordans Group where necessary;
• To build good working relationships with the Corporate Governance Consultants and other departments within Jordans Trust Company Limited and the Jordans Group;
• To provide corporate, registered office and company administration services to a portfolio of Jordans’ clients (numbers to be agreed);
• To build up good working relationships with those clients, and to develop an understanding of their requirements, ensuring that their needs are properly interpreted and implemented;
• To provide cover for the Manager / Head of Corporate Governance in her absence;
• To provide cover for the Corporate Governance Consultants in their absence.
Main responsibilities
• To work closely with the Corporate Governance Consultants, providing technical and administrative support, including cover during their absence.
• To work with the Manager / Head of Corporate Governance receiving training in systems etc. where necessary.
• To provide cover for the Manager / Head of Corporate Governance in her absence.
• To identify training needs for the Corporate Governance Consultants and to assist in providing these on-the-job where appropriate.
• To be fully conversant with the relevant systems, procedures and services of the department and to ensure that the work processes of the Corporate Governance Consultants are carried out efficiently and effectively.
• To administer a portfolio of companies (numbers to be agreed);
• To ensure that all completed work is promptly invoiced, raising interim invoices as appropriate.
• Performing ad-hoc work at the request of the Manager / Head of Corporate Governance.
Key attributes for the role
• ICSA qualified or relevant experience in UK Corporate Governance.
• An understanding of offshore structures is an advantage but not essential.
• Strong interpersonal skills, both client-facing and within the organisation.
• Proactive and self motivated.
• Personable and enthusiastic team player, with a confident, professional and commercial outlook.
• Experience in providing services to clients, both in person, in writing and by telephone.
• Confident in using IT.
