This is a broad commercial legal role, supporting our client’s corporate infrastructure departments as well as front office businesses.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Supporting all areas of the organisation by advising on, preparing and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts, (including regional/global master agreements), such as:
- terms and conditions of sale and purchase of goods and/or services;
- service agreements and maintenance contracts;
- information technology and e-commerce related agreements;
- telecommunications;
- trading systems agreements;
- trade co-ordination agreements;
- specialised consultancy agreements;
- marketing and sponsorship campaign agreements;
- events contracts;
- confidentiality agreements;
- assured shorthold tenancy agreements;
- global travel agreements; and
- logistics agreements;
- Take the lead with intra-group agreement requirements;
- Managing external counsel in relation to property law and pensions matters;
- Assisting the Corporate Legal team in relation to legal projects;
- Updating legal precedents;
- Providing legal workshops and training to the business and legal department from time to time.
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:
- To perform successfully in this role, the job holder will be able to demonstrate the following personal attributes:
- Solicitor (England and Wales qualified or equivalent) of approximately 2 years PQE who has trained in a leading international firm.
- In-house experience in a global organisation would be an advantage.
- Communication skills – the highest level of natural communication and persuasive skills are required.
- Negotiation Skills – negotiations will be a significant aspect of this role together with natural perceptiveness and commercial astuteness.
- High Work Standards – inherently high work standards will be required in a fast paced working environment.
- Independence – whilst having the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of individuals, it is essential that the post holder is independently-minded, able to challenge decisions and objectively argue their case so that the best business decisions are made.
- Organisational skills – ability to work on a variety of matters at any given time and prioritise client needs and manage expectations accordingly.
- Drafting Skills – Ability to draft clearly and concisely and in doing so have regard to the law.
