Assistant European GC - FTSE 100 Chemicals plc

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercial lawyer to join a global chemicals and technologies company as their Assistant General Counsel, Europe.

As Assistant General Counsel, Europe, you will report directly to the Legal Director and will have 3 direct reports. You will be involved in the legal function for regional customer accounts throughout Europe. You will manage a team of European lawyers who will work on a range of commercial and procurement leads, ensuring that regional contracts are consistent and compliant. You will also communicate with key stakeholders and the wider business on a variety of commercial law issues, ensuring the European function operates as efficiently and ethically as possible.

You should ideally be 8-10 years PQE, with a strong corporate commercial background, with experience of working in a matrix organisation, so you should be familiar and able to cope with the varying demands and requirements of working in an international business. You should also have demonstrable management experience either in-house or in a private practice capacity. You should be keen to work with as the head of a team, with a proactive approach to identifying issues and improving processes.
