- Managing the Learning and Development team (4 direct reports, 3 indirect).
- Managing the full training cycle for Partners and all staff; training needs analysis, design, delivery and evaluation of business skills courses and programmes.
- Implementing Leadership and Management development processes and programmes for Partners and leaders in the firm under a competency framework structure.
- Managing and delivering firm-wide organisational development projects and supporting team based development activities.
- Developing others through coaching and mentoring using both internal and external expertise.
- Management of the system to ensure that all learning attendance is captured and all regulatory requirements met.
- Responsibility for the Learning and Development budget.
- Developing relationships with key external providers, in particular the Firm-wide Academy programmes.
- Identifying, developing and supporting the Partners of the future through talent programmes, coaching and mentoring.
- Developing and delivering bespoke client training as a value add to clients of the firm in conjunction with the Client Training and Professional Development Manager.
- Working collaboratively with other Heads of in HR and Knowledge to ensure a joined up learning experience for all regardless of the content of the training.
Key Skills
- As an experienced individual, with a background within Learning & Development within a professional services (ideally law firm, environment), you will be a strategic and creative thinker with excellent and well developed management skills which will enable you to both lead a team and the function across the UK and internationally.
- As the Head of L&D within an environment that has seen a great deal of change, you will be able to positively tackle all challenges, formulate solutions and engage with others to ensure proactive steps are taken. You will work in a way that encourages a collaborative, team-orientated culture ensuring you and the team maintain a client focused approach.
