Local Government Lawyer

Local Government Lawyer required to join a local authority based in Kent for an initial 3 month period.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a Council who are very accommodating of their staff. Our client is ideally looking for the lawyer to work full-time, although they are happy to consider part-time candidates who will work 4 days per week. They also allow home-working, of up to 1 day per week from home, where suitable.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in the areas of Contracts, Procurement, Property and Planning, although in the absence of experience in each of these areas, a high level of knowledge would be required. This is an unusual, fulfilling role, which will really appeal to local government generalists who enjoy carrying a mixed caseload.

The successful local government will undertake a varied role, working across different department as required.

The ideal candidate will hold experience in all of the above areas, although we are particularly keen to hear from Commercial Lawyers with a background in property and contracts. Previous local authority experience would be beneficial, although this is not at all essential.
