Housing Lawyer

Housing Lawyer required to join a local authority based in London for an initial 3 month locum period.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Housing Lawyer to join a fast-paced organisation based in a lovely area of London. Excellent client care skills are essential, as the successful Housing Lawyer will be managing a number of clients.

This role will involve a high level of advocacy, including representing the Council in the Civil Court and Magistrates Court for a range of housing and litigation matters. The successful candidate must have previous experience of conducting their own advocacy. Candidates that have experience in other areas of civil and property litigation would be highly advantageous.

This is an interesting Housing role, where no two days look the same. Duties will include;

● Conducting general housing and litigation work on behalf of the local authority
● Matters include housing disrepair, rent arrears, possession, homelessness, service charge and advice work
● Drafting notices, witness statements and pleadings

This role would suit a Housing Lawyer who is flexible and able to prioritise tasks, as advocacy will take place alongside running a varied caseload. Applications are welcomed from candidates who have previous local authority or private practice experience.
