My Client is a prestigious Patent & Trade Mark firm based in the heart of the City of London. They represent a broad range of clients including major domestic and international corporations, SMEs, universities and individual inventors.
Responsibilities
Assist Credit Controller with issuing of Statements of Account to clients at the start of each month.
Assist with credit control of smaller accounts including bill processing and interest calculation.
Input and export Foreign Associate invoices across Access Dimensions, Inprotech and a Document Management System.
Notify secretaries about the invoices entered into the system.
Answer general client queries and provide copies of invoices on request.
Update and maintain both client and internal details on the accounting systems.
Reconciliations including official fee deposit accounts and supplier statements with internal records.
Revenue control: various monthly reports unpaid disbursements/WIP, credit control, monthly meetings.
Post cash receipts to the ledger and take cheques to the bank.
Respond to queries, ad hoc requests for information and analysis from the Accounts team plus any other duties that a Partner, Director or senior manager may ask you to carry out.
Candidate Profile
The Accounts Assistant must be able to work well under pressure, prioritise tasks efficiently and approach work analytically and methodically. Experienced working in a team environment, the candidate will have strong communication skills (both written and spoken) and IT literacy skills, with a good knowledge of Excel.
The candidate will have a working knowledge of Solicitor Accounts rules and any Accountancy or AAT training will be advantageous. The candidate will be encouraged to take the ILFA exams at the firm’s expense.
