This brand new Patent Paralegal vacancy has arisen in the London office of a newly launched US IP specialist law firm in central London. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for providing docketing and filing support on EPO and UK patent prosecution matters as well as in other jurisdictions and the role will therefore require a comprehensive understanding of EPO and UKIPO patent prosecution rules and procedures. This is an exciting opportunity to work with elite US based clients with the potential to travel to the US as required. This is a full time, permanent IP / Patent Paralegal position, paying a competitive salary of £37-45,000 per annum (negotiable and dependent upon experience).

Main requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • Applying patent prosecution knowledge to effectively assist in the filing of EPO and GB applications and related prosecution filings.
  • Creating and maintaining digital versions of inbound, outbound and internal communications and assisting in on-going audits of digital files.
  • Ensuring the integrity of the IP prosecution database by performing quality review of one’s own work, assisting with the quality review of team members’ work and by completing all assigned tasks (individual and team) within targeted deadlines.
  • Preparing reports and assisting other department staff in the preparation of reports.

The ideal candidate will be degree educated with circa three years’ EPO and UKIPO patent prosecution docketing and filing experience. Experience with IP technologies is also essential as well as possessing excellent communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively and the ability to think creatively whilst demonstrating initiative.
