Finance Manager

A leading US law firm is seeking a Finance Manager to join their London office. The main focus of the role will be the management of payroll and VAT reporting. The firm are growing so it is a great time to be joining them. Key responsibilities for the Finance Manager will include:

• Coordination/reconciliation of payroll
• Prepare the Tax & NI payment for HMRC.
• Deal with the requirements for employees paid in London and New York and act as a first point of contact for queries.
• Process payments for both non-contributory members and those auto-enrolled.
• Maintain the internal records and reconcile monthly.
• Enrol new members in accordance with both Firm policy and official governance.
• Monitor auto-enrolment, and implement any changes.

• Preparation of complex VAT returns
• Ensure the Firm is compliant with VAT, from a Billing and Accounts Payable perspective.
• Ensure bills raised are in line with VAT requirements, and are jurisdictionally correct and compliant.
• Review the cashbook on a monthly basis, ensuring that all VAT has been recorded and processed correctly.
  Review the Bills Issued document on a monthly basis, ensuring that all VAT has been recorded and processed correctly.
• Work closely with the Office Director and provide ad-hoc support in various areas where needed.

The ideal candidate for this Finance Manager role will be qualified or part-qualified, and have significant previous finance/accounts experience from a law firm. Extensive knowledge of payroll and VAT reporting is essential and a sound working knowledge of the SRA Accounts Rules is required. You must have experience of working in an international environment, and be able to work autonomously and with minimal supervision.
