Lead Counsel – Construction/Projects Solicitors
A fantastic opportunity has arisen with an established business in the construction /property & regeneration projects industry – they operate in a business that has a diverse portfolio and a global presence.
This position allows for 1 day to work from home and adjusted start / finish times which may assist commuters from surrounding locations like Manchester, Sheffield, Bradford, Halifax, Wakefield, York, Harrogate.
Accountabilities
You will have a senior position within the team, responsible for a certain region in the UK. You can expect to handle a broad range of interesting and complex work with an emphasis on non-contentious construction law and regeneration projects, in the public and private sectors. You will advise the business on legal, contractual and commercial matters with the support of a Junior Counsel, who you will supervise. You will have direct dealings with senior stakeholders including the MD and will report directly to the Head of Legal.
Requirements
Ideally, you will have the following;
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Qualified Solicitor – 7 – 15 PQE*
- Experience in one or more of the following: Construction or Engineering or Projects (PFI/PPP)
- Familiar with the standard suite contracts i.e. NEC and JCT (essential)
- Secondment or In-House experience (highly advantageous)
- Any exposure to the Public Procurement (desirable)
Remuneration
In return, you will be rewarded with a strong £basic salary, 15% bonus, £car allowance and other fantastic benefits. Our client is also a very flexible employer and open to candidates working 1 day from home or having flexible start / finish times.
