An opportunity has arisen for a senior IP lawyer to join the Manchester office of a well-regarded law firm who have a strength advising clients in the healthcare sector. The firm are pre-eminent in this space and are top tier rated in the directories across several practice areas.
A lot of the work of the Commercial team is advising Healthcare clients on the application of technology, but they also advise on a lot of Technology / IT contracts for their clients.
They are looking to make a senior appointment at either Senior Associate or Junior Partner level into their Manchester office to help build up the Commercial IP capability in the Northwest. The firm has a wider national team comprising c20 Intellectual Property Solicitors and Trademark Attorneys across other offices.
The work is all transactional and is quite broad in scope, including but not limited to: advising on legal issues relating to development of websites, smartphone applications and other online resources; advising on intellectual property issues, in particular copyright, trademarks and database rights; advising on contracts with IT providers (hardware, software, development, maintenance and support).
They are looking for someone with a minimum of 6PQE in IP matters, with your training and experience ideally gained with a city, national or recognised regional practice. Experience of the healthcare sector is going to be advantageous but not essential. Experience of Technology/ IT is going to be beneficial. If you join at Senior Associate level there is a very clear progression pathway to partnership. However the firm would also look at making an appointment at Junior Partner level.
This is a great opportunity to join a leading firm in the healthcare sector and there are really tangible progression prospects with this role. Salary between £65-75k for someone at Senior Associate level.
