Commercial Property Paralegal / Legal Executive / In-house
COMMERCIAL PROPERTY PARALEGAL - MANCHESTER
Commercial Property Paralegal (in-house) – the in-house commercial property team of this leading international bank is looking for a commercial real estate paralegal who is looking for a new challenge with a role that offers something a little different. The in-house department wishes to hire a paralegal with proven commercial property experience who is capable of using their legal expertise in more of a commercial and operational capacity, rather than a purely drafting and advisory one.
THE ROLE AT A GLANCE
- Job title: Commercial Property Paralegal / Legal Executive (in-house)
- Location: Manchester
- Salary: £25,000 - £35,000
- Reports to: Senior Solicitor
- Previous Experience: Candidates must come from a real estate background and be able to demonstrate proven commercial property experience. Those with previous experience advising banks and other institutional lenders will certainly be at an advantage.
OVERVIEW OF ROLE
The team is looking for a commercial property paralegal or legal executive who is looking to make the move in-house. What makes the role different is that it is not a purely legal role in the sense of restricting candidates to drafting property agreements and other ancillary property documentation. Instead the role involves drawing on your commercial property expertise in a far more commercial and operational setting.
The successful candidate will sit within the commercial property team and report into the senior in-house commercial property solicitor within the department. The property team works closely with the in-house banking team in structuring funding deals and facility arrangements for the banks customers / clients. The members of the property team however have more of a direct role with the customer / client in how to structure the deal as some of the arrangements can be quite complex and technical.
LEGAL ELEMENT OF ROLE
As mentioned above, the team is looking for a paralegal or legal executive with a commercial property background as the role will involve certain key legal skills. The successful candidate will be required to:
- Investigate and report on title;
- Analyse legal documentation especially in relation to real estate assets used as security;
- Check and review legal documentation produced by solicitors to make sure it has been drafted correctly to give effect to the bank’s intentions and limit risk;
- Liaise with external lawyers where necessary.
COMMERCIAL / OPERATIONAL ELEMENT TO ROLE
As well as the legal element, a significant part of the role involves assisting the senior solicitor on more operational-level tasks such as training and managing junior staff as well as considering the more commercial aspects of a given deal.
A GREAT OPPORTUNITY
This is a truly commercial role drawing on both your legal and operational skills within a top class in-house legal team. The salary and benefits on offer are also highly attractive and candidates will also enjoy fantastic opportunities for career progression.
