Our client is a leading international life science company with European Headquarters in the UK.  The company has a diverse portfolio of products ranging from pharmaceuticals to medical devices and they have a world-leading digital health business.    The European business focuses on clinical development, commercialisation and marketing operations across France, Germany, Italy, Nordic region, Spain, Switzerland and the UK.

They work across a range of therapeutic areas with market leading drugs both active and in the clinical pipeline.  Particularly well known for its ground –breaking developments in digital health, the company is working to develop new digital healthcare technology and with healthcare professionals in complex areas of patient engagement and disease prevention.

A new European GC has been appointed to the company and part of the strategic plan is to expand the legal team with new headcount.    Key roles within the team will be the appointment of two Legal Counsel. 

These are interesting opportunities for 3-6 year qualified commercial/IP lawyers to move to a dynamic life science company at an important time of its development.  The company is mature and successful but the culture is such that there is autonomy, creativity, and room to develop the roles and to make a real impact in a supportive team. 

Each Legal Counsel will report to the GC with responsibility for a portfolio of varied work.  You will give general legal support to functions across the business such as Marketing, Medical Affairs, Operations, Market Access, HR & Finance and the work will include drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, more specialised IP, technology, pre-launch product support and risk management.  You will be supported by a paralegal and both compliance and data privacy teams. 

We are seeking mid to senior lawyers with a real interest in life science and/or digital health.  You must have either a general commercial or IP/IT background and preferably be in-house already or be in a leading law firm having enjoyed a secondment opportunity and looking for a first move in-house. 

This company has a global brand, but is small enough for you to enjoy lots of responsibility and commercial exposure.   You will not get lost in a big team or become over-specialised and will enjoy significant development opportunities.
