About the Opportunity
A unique opportunity has arisen to join Poundland Legal Team based from our Head Office in the West Midlands. You’ll be responsible for providing a First-class legal service across the business. Ensuring any legal risks are adequately addressed, providing corporate advice and support the board.
What our Head of Legal will be doing on a Typical Day
You’ll be managing the Legal Services Team ensuring delivery of key products. You’ll pick up any pending matters and distribute caseloads amongst the team. You’ll be responsible for defending cases and be willing to stand up in different Courts across the UK representing the brand.
Here’s a snapshot of the Head of Legal's responsibilities:
- Partnering with Senior Management/Directors on commercially sensitive matters.
- Ensure effective resource planning to prioritise team work loads and ensure internal customer timelines are met.
- Leading and maintaining a focused function delivering fit for purpose commercially sound advice for the business.
- Ensures appropriate adherence to ethical trading policies, code of conduct and competition law requirements.
What we want in a Head of Legal candidate
You’ll be a qualified lawyer with substantial PQE with a strong background of people management experience. You’ll have experience gained in either a private practice background or from another in-house role.
To be considered you’ll need to have the following on your CV:
- You’ll have at Least 7 years PQE
- In-house experience in a similar industry
- You must be able to confidently manage and develop productive relationships with key stakeholders and management.
- You’ll have gained experience of dealing with a wide variety of legal matters
- Outstanding people and relationship building skills
