Kennedys is looking to recruit a general banking and finance solicitor based in our London office.  The successful candidate will benefit from a wide range of high quality work, realistic opportunity for career progression and a high level of client interaction.  

The role affords the opportunity to undertake work that is varied, often complex in nature and high in value, on behalf of a client base which includes UK banks as well as a range of other lenders and borrowers.

Team Information:

This role sits within the Corporate/Commercial Division of Kennedys which encompasses: Commercial and Corporate, Banking and Finance, Real Estate, General Commercial Litigation and Insolvency. 

An indication of the type of work the successful candidate will undertake includes:

  • Advising lenders in relation to all aspects of secured and unsecured lending
  • Advising on transactions covering real estate finance, corporate and acquisition finance, and leveraged finance
  • Advising borrowers and investors in relation to their financing requirements
  • Drafting transactional documentation required including facility agreements, security documents and intercreditor arrangements
  • Managing a finance transaction to completion and liaising with the client at each stage

Requirements

Qualifications: 

Essential:

  • UK Qualified Solicitor with the relevant experience.
  • Strong Academics (2.1 or higher degree) or equivalent.

Experience: 
 
Essential:

  • 5-6 years post qualification experience in a general banking and finance role*
  • Broad and varied experience within general banking and secured lending
  • Experience of maintaining excellent client relationships and business development activities as well as a sound knowledge of relevant law
  • Broad exposure across a range of medium and high value transactions
  • Previous experience of working on similar scale deals and with a significant level of responsibility
  • Ability to run and assist on transactions with some or minimal supervision.

Desirable:

  • Some experience in advising on general commercial matters and on corporate transactions.
