The company offers solutions that assist its customers in become GDPR compliant and therefore its internal GDPR compliance project and ongoing compliance strategy are one of the top three priorities in the company.

Description

This Privacy Cousel, Global Technology & Software Company role is based in Reading and is seeking a qualified Privacy Lawyer or a non- qualified data protection specialist.

This is a broad role which encompasses BAU data protection work as well as participation in the GDPR project.

Day to day you will be acting in an advisory capacity, the ability to answer broad and complex queries is essential.

You will act as number two for the Lead Privacy Counsel, a senior director in the business.

Profile

This Privacy Cousel, Global Technology & Software Company role is based in Reading and is seeking a qualified Privacy Lawyer or a non- qualified data protection specialist.

  • UK qualified solicitor, barrister or European equivalent. (Unqualified candidates with relevant data protection experience will also be considered)

  • In depth experience and knowledge of current European data protection regime and the GDPR
  • Ability to learn quickly in a fast paced, demanding work environment
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Detail oriented and able to work under time pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to plan and work towards long terms goals
  • Able to build a network internally and to influence
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, ability to push back in the right way when needed

  • Act as deputy for Global Privacy Lead in the UK, management of contractors
  • Will be looked to as a leader by other functions.
