Heavyweight role for public law litigator with expanding firm
The Firm
This award-winning local firm in the Maidstone area is particularly known for its specialist work in public-sector matters, taking instruction from local authorities and community organisations. The firm is currently embarking on a period of expansion and is looking for a senior litigator to join the dispute resolution team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an expanding firm in a heavyweight, senior role with excellent prospects for the future.
The Role
The role encompasses a range of high-end dispute resolution matters within the public sector, and a solid background in a similar role with an in-depth understanding of the public sector environment is essential. Additionally the role involves a substantial caseload of civil and criminal litigation including fraud, licensing, environmental health, employment law, construction and judicial review. You will be proactively managing and growing a focused team of experienced lawyers and should be comfortable building relationships not only within your team but also in terms of networking and building strong client relationships.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will be currently employed in a similar role, preferably with some experience of working within a local authority environment, and probably at partner level. With at least fifteen years’ experience, you will be an extremely confident, robust advocate. Excellent technical skills are called for as well as commercial acumen. This is a role calling for a cool head under pressure and an outstanding approach to client care, and excellent time-management and people skills are essential.
