Compliance Manager – life Insurance and Pensions

An Insurance company based in Dublin now require a Life Insurance Compliance Manager to join an expanding compliance function and report directly to the head of compliance.

The Role:

  • Assist the business to meet the unique needs to be fully compliant with all applicable financial service’s regulation
  • Ensure that expectations in relation to CPC behaviour are clearly demonstrated and communicated to the wider business in order to support our customer focused culture
  • Providing technical expertise to the team and business on key regulatory issues
  • Assisting the Head of Compliance in the team’s delivery of technical excellence to the business while building and embedding 1st line capability and 2nd oversight effectiveness
  • Advising regulatory and business projects as directed
  • Assist the development of 1st and 2nd line through coaching and support
  • Ensuring the compliance team and the wider business are kept up to date in relation to incoming new regulation that is likely to have an impact and co-ordinate or support the business's response to regulatory change
  • Production of responses to regulatory and governmental consultations
  • Production of guidance and delivery of support to the business on the ongoing requirements of the relevant Supervisory Authorities
  • Responsible for production of Compliance Procedures and MI while providing the provision of accurate and timely expert advice to the business on regulatory matters and on arising BAU queries from the business
  • Responsible for developing, managing and preparing an annual regulatory assessment for the business – to include all areas of oversight
  • Assist delivery of thematic regulatory reviews

The Person:

  • Educated to degree level with full ACOI or equivalent
  • You will have an in depth understanding of the financial services industry specifically having knowledge of the Life business or pensions within a Compliance Role
  • Knowledge of and experience in the regulatory regime impacting on life assurance, particularly in the areas such as Financial Crime, CPC, Consumer Risk, Fitness & Probity, Minimum Competencies and Pensions Legislation
  • The ability to interact effectively with Staff and Management at various levels
  • Good report writing skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Extensive relevant experience in the life financial services industry

This role is a ‘controlled function’ as defined by the Central Bank Reform Act 2010 Regulations 2011

This Compliance Manager is an exciting opportunity to join a top Insurance company, you will have direct reports and will be reporting directly and aiding the Head of Compliance this role will be required to deliver specific aspects of support to the growing department, with view of a strong career progression internally with time while aiding and deputising for the senior manager.
