Commercial Paralegal, Global Hospitality Company, Watford, Permanent, up to £31,500
Your new company
This global brand of hotels and resorts boasts thousands of hotels in over 100 countries and territories. The business requires a paralegal to join the legal team located in its Head Office in Watford, supporting and working with the Development lawyers in the Development and Real Estate group.
Your new role
You will draft, review and revise various contacts (including management, franchise and ancillary agreements). You will review and recommend changes to standard forms and other contracts. You will co-ordinate the collation of documentation necessary for the completion and execution of agreements. You will support the organisation's regional franchise administration systems, and provide legal guidance to business partners. You will assist in establishing, maintaining and distributing a library of precedent documents for the Development and Real Estate group. You will be the point of contact for questions and issues regarding franchise and management agreements. You will support any due diligence investigations and reviews. You will prepare training, presentations and ad-hoc reports and organisation-wide corporate projects. You will update internal databases and use the legal department's dedicated systems, including the electronic filing system and the contract management system. You will ensure that stakeholders are informed of processes, and engage and liaise with outside counsel across numerous regions, in accordance with budgets and engagement policies.
What you'll need to succeed
You have completed your LLB / GDL, and have prior paralegal experience working in contracts. You can understand complex legal concepts and relay them in layman terms to business partners and stakeholders. You work well under pressure and can handle concurrent demands. You have solid legal drafting and analysis skills, and are experienced in negotiating contracts. You can obtain, review and implement local law advice from a variety of jurisdictions with different legal systems. You can work in a large organisation and co-ordinate with different offices and functions.
