MENTAL HEALTH ADVOCATE: PERMANENT/LOCUM

New opening at accredited Southampton firm for a Mental Health Advocate with panel membership to manage their own caseload on either a permanent or locum basis.

The firm is now recruiting for a Mental Health Advocate with panel membership for its office based in Southampton.

The Role
This is an opportune time to join the firm as a Mental Health Advocate and become part of an established, specialist team. Applications are encouraged from Solicitors, Legal Executives and Paralegals who possess membership of the Law Society’s Mental Health Panel. Your duties will revolve around managing a busy and challenging caseload advising patients and their relatives across the full remit of Mental Health Act issues. You will advise and represent clients at Mental Health Review Tribunals and Managers’ Hearings. Applications will be considered on a permanent basis or on a locum basis to start immediately.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role:
You must be a Solicitor, Legal Executive or Paralegal with solid experience in mental health;
You must possess membership of the Law Society’s Mental Health Panel;
You will be a confident advocate with first class client care and communication skills across all levels;
You will possess a good working knowledge of Legal Aid Agency processes;
You will be IT proficient;
It will be advantageous to possess Higher Rights of Audience.
