Description
This LPC Graduate role will be based in Newbury and will be supporting an in house legal team on a range of legal matters whilst working closely with the commercial arm of the business with regards to new and existing business.
You will be negotiating and reviewing a wide range of commercial contracts. On a day to day basis this would typically include NDAs, Master Service Agreements, Memorandums of Understanding, Service Agreements etc.
Other areas that you will cover will include compliance and data protection. At the moment there is a particular emphasis on GDPR so it is likely that you will be involved in a GDPR project from day one of starting. As well as GDPR, you will also be handling subject access requests and assisting with privacy impact assessments.
As with any in house role it is likely from time to time that you will be called upon to assist with ad-hoc legal queries that are raised by the wider business and you will be carrying out legal research to handle these queries accordingly.
Profile
It is essential that applicants to this role have successfully completed the LPC.
It would be advantageous if you also met the following below criteria.
- Have at least 12 months experience within a commercial or corporate team (private practice or in house)
- Strong team player who can be relied upon to carry out work in the absence of others
- Strong influencing skills particularly when dealing with customers
- Demonstrates solid business and commercial acumen
- Have a desire to make their next career move a long term role and want to get qualified within that role
- Live in or around the Newbury region or be willing to relocate to this region
Job Offer
A salary of £20,000 - £25,000(DOE) is on offer and the client will also provide Ilex funding and support in order for you to qualify as a solicitor.
