Our client, a leading International law firm have an opportunity for an experienced recruitment officer. The role is to look after all business services recruitment which includes, finance, IT, marketing, HR, compliance, information services and facilities and fee-earner up to and including Senior associate level. This is very much an involved resourcing role not just process driven recruitment. The person needs to be very visible and enjoy getting up and going round to meet the managers in their area. They need to have commercial acumen to advise on business cases for recruitment approval and understand the requirements of their groups. Candidates must have recruitment consultancy or in-house experience, ideally from a legal or professional services background.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide recruitment advice, recommendations, and regular feedback to Line Managers and Heads of Departments regarding their resourcing needs;
  • Recruit Business Services staff ensuring the recruitment of the best candidates who are suitably qualified and experienced and will bring a good knowledge of their area and new skills to the firm;
  • Recruit from NQ through to Senior Associate level, including involvement in interviews.
  • Responsible for adherence to the firm's recruitment procedure including (but not limited to) recruitment requisition sign-off, production of up to date job descriptions, salary benchmarking, and guidance with regard to interview questions, prior to the commencement of any Business Services recruitment;
  • Work collaboratively with the wider resourcing team and/or the wider HR team to help develop the recruitment strategy
  • In conjunction with the Resourcing Manager facilitate quarterly meetings with Heads of Department and annual resource planning across departments;
  • Conduct and facilitate interviews as part of the recruitment process as appropriate;
  • Assist with exit interviews and the analysis of trends and retention;
  • Recruitment of contract / temp and fixed-term staff and act as HR point of contact for the duration of their contract;
  • Work with the Business Services Manager to manage the recruitment process for the Trainee Secretarial Program and assisting in assessment days;
  • Ensure all recruitment, new joiner and leaver documentation is completed in a timely and efficient manner;
  • Encourage direct applicants through internal and external referrals;
  • Liaise with recruitment agencies and conduct ongoing analysis of the preferred suppliers (PSL) and ensure communication, relationships, and quality of service are consistently maintained;
  • Maintain up to date information for reporting;
  • Support and cover colleagues workloads as and when required;
  • Take part in ad hoc HR projects from time to time e.g. market data for salary reviews, assistance with Graduate and Summer Vacation Schemes during peek times.

Budgetary Responsibility

  • Managing the PSL (preferred supplier list) / agency terms and conditions
  • Weekly invoicing - authorising recruitment fees incurred by agencies or contractors

Candidate Specification:

  • Proven recruitment consultancy or in-house experience, ideally focusing on legal or professional services
  • Excellent IT administration and organisation skills
