This is an opportunity for a Banking & Finance Associate Solicitor to join a leading City firm's practice, in a role which will provides real variety of work and clients.

Owing to the team's reasonable size, the practice is not broken down into separate teams, meaning associates in the group will get a varied diet of work (acquisition/leveraged finance, general syndicated lending, restructuring, fund finance, real estate finance, etc), for mix of lender/borrower/sponsor clients. Associates aren't tied to a particular partner or client and so get an element of choice in how their practice develops, some soft encouragement of specialisation is encouraged towards mid and senior level.

The team has had a successful few years and is continuing to win new clients and grow. Deal teams are kept small, to allow associates decent partner (and client) exposure and BD is encouraged early on. The team has a good culture and associates genuinely look out for each other, partners are also very good at managing workloads which is made an easier task given the high level of visibility associates have in the team.

The work is of a high calibre, the team competes at the top end of the market. As such, they will only hire if their high standards are met. They have hired in recent years from the Magic Circle (associates looking for more visibility and less forced specialisation), US firms (associates looking for a more balanced workload) in addition to high performers from mid-market teams, who are looking to push their own development to the next level.

The firm is highly successful and profitable and has a remuneration structure which is on Magic Circle territory.
