GDPR / Data Protection Consultant
West Yorkshire Police

3 - 4 month Contract (extendable)


In preparation for the upcoming GDPR the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner in West Yorkshire is seeking an experienced Data Protection Lawyer / Project Manager to join them on a consultancy basis to manage information and ensure compliance with the new regulations.

The role will be reporting to and working closely with the Chief Executive and will require a candidate who will be assertive and take a hands-on approach. You will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance to the organisation across all aspects of Data Protection, Impact Assesssments, Privacy by design, Collaborations, Procurements, Data Security Breaches and Information Sharing.

Expertise Required:

* Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant Disclosure/Legal subject, specialist qualification in this area or proven recent relevant experience in an organisation of similar nature and size.
* Excellent knowledge and experience of the Data Protection Act and future developements, the Freedom of Information Act, the Management of Police Information and associated disclosure legislation and guidance
* Experience of writing detailed reports.
* Experience of the development and implementation of policies and procedures
* Good communication and stakeholder management skills
* Has knowledge and experience of managing successful projects
