Banking Lawyer

An expansionary role for a full time Banking Solicitor (0 – 4 years PQE) to work within our banking team of this top 200 law firm.

Suitable applicants will be high calibre candidates who have excellent academics as well as banking and finance experience from a leading practice. This is a new role for this growing team who are advisers to a range of lenders and borrowers. The successful candidate would work closely with the partners in the banking team and would be involved in marketing and business development. You will also work in a friendly and open environment where teamwork is essential.

Key aspects of this role include:

Providing advice and guidance to clients by email, telephone or in face to face meetings. Drafting a wide range of documentation in relation to the department’s work. Adhering to any agreed client service standards and deadlines. Contributing to business development initiatives.

If you are already qualified, you will currently specialise in Banking or a specialist Finance role and have some experience in banking law to include acquisition finance for MBO/MBIs, acting for lenders and borrowers, corporate banking, asset finance, security and priority issues and syndicated financing structures.

Newly-qualified lawyers must have undertaken a seat in either Banking law or in a Finance-related area of law and have a genuine desire to specialise in Banking.

Good communication and IT skills are essential as is managing expectations across a wide range of competing needs. Attention to detail, a good work ethic and a willingness to cover a variety of tasks and work outside core hours on occasion will be necessary. Candidates must be professional, with an excellent telephone manner and be confident in dealing with clients, as well as interacting with other members of the department.
