A great opportunity to join a specialist practice in the heart of London’s legal district
The Firm
For twenty years our client has been operating as a very successful niche practice specialising in family and mental health law, with three offices across central and greater London. The firm is accredited in every area of its practice and is banded at level 1 in Chambers Directory. A vacancy has now arisen for a lawyer to join the mental health team in the central London office (Chancery Lane tube). This is a great opportunity to join an expanding, friendly team.
The Role
This firm’s mental health team is one of the best-regarded in the country and deals with cases from tribunals through to the Supreme Court. You will be taking on a busy caseload of matters encompassing patients’ rights and mental health law as well as issues of public law under human rights legislation and judicial review matters. You will be representing clients before the First-Tier Tribunal (Mental Health), at Hospital Managers’ Hearings, CPA meetings and s117 meetings and taking instructions from clients detained in hospitals, and possibly outside the local area.
The Candidate
The firm is looking for solicitor 3+ years’ PQE with panel membership;
You will have a problem-solving approach with the ability to deal with complex matters in a creative, imaginative way;
Flexible, empathetic, pragmatic and with the ability to explain complex matters in clear, accessible language.
Fluency in a second language would be useful, though it is not essential;
It will be necessary to travel to meet with clients, so a clean full driving licence and use of a vehicle would be advantageous.
