My client is a local authority in South Glamorgan, South Wales. Their Legal Services team is seeking to recruit a locum Solicitor or Barrister who will undertake legal work within the area of commercial property & planning law, advising on legal matters and acting on behalf of the Council at hearings, mediations and inquiries.

This is an on-going assignment and is guaranteed for at least three months. This legal services team is progressive and inclusive. They are fully supportive of promoting a work life balance and offer a range of flexible working opportunities at all levels. Arrangements including flexible workings hours, term time working, part time, compressed hours, home working and job share arrangements, will all be considered.

This local authority is easily reached by public transport. The offices are surrounded by a range of tourist attractions and urban green spaces and with multiple developments already planned, this city can offer a vibrant lifestyle for its residents.

The team is seeking an individual who will bring with them experience and knowledge of both property and planning law, as well as practical knowledge of the wider public sector. Knowledge and experience of local government is desirable but not essential.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a current practicing certificate. They will be able to give advice on complex and high value developments but also be willing to work across many other non-contentious disciplines in order to further the work of the team.

The caseload offered to the successful applicant will be varied and complex and will be made up of any number of the following:

  • Leasehold Valuation Tribunals
