Job Title: Private Client Paralegal
Location: North London
Salary: - Based on experience
Responsibilities and duties
1) Looking at the post for solicitors each morning and making sure these are scanned into data base
2) Dealing with calls and enquires for the solicitors and fee earners.
3) Making sure files are conducted in accordance with Practise Management Standards including Excel and Wills & Inheritance Quality Scheme.
4) Review files in accordance with the file review policy and procedure.
5) Recording your chargeable and non-chargeable time.
6) Following file checklists.
Assisting solicitors with their casework to include:
1. Preparing wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection application forms, Oath of Executors/Letters of Administration
2. Preparing IHT forms including form 400
3. Attending upon clients in person to discuss their matters
4. Speaking to and corresponding with clients by letter and by email
5. Speaking to and corresponding with HMRC, Court of Protection, Probate Registry, asset holding companies and other bodies by letter and by email
6. Archiving files when they are completed
7. Prepare estate and administration accounts
8. Managing solicitor’s diary
9. Preparing quotes for new work
Qualifications and skills
At least four years proven experience in Private Client work required.
Experience in using case management and will drafting software an advantage.
Relevant ILEX or similar qualification an advantage.
