Are you an ambitious business developer looking to make your first move into a global law firm? We are working with a full service International law firm based in brand new offices near Liverpool Stree and Bank. They are keen to hire a promising business developer to support their Corporate Finance practice group for the UK and EMEA region. This business development opportunity will see you work with internal stakeholders and their clients overseeing business development activities and event management.  

Reporting to the Senior Business Development Manager, this is a great opportunity to work closely with professionals in London and globally to ensure client targeting initiatives and information on existing and potential deals are coordinated successfully.

Responsibilities include;

  • Working on new proposal opportunities and being instrumental in delivering a first good working document for the partners
  • Updating and preparing practice related materials (practice group profiles, deal/matter case studies, CVs) and helping to collate and produce documents for pitches and proposals
  • Collecting deal/case/matter information and maintaining deal lists. Updating firm databases with significant deals and submitting to external sources
  • Checking /formatting of materials for client presentations, internal training meetings
  • Updating lawyer and practice group information on the Firm’s website and intranet
  • Working closely with colleagues  around the world to develop an international approach to BD
  • Co-ordinating practice group projects and acting as a liaison point between the design and events teams in respect of client events
  • Co-ordinating directory submissions and helping the partners prepare for interviews with legal directory researchers
  • Working with the PR team as needed, on practice group PR initiatives and profile raising
  • Liaising with the finance and research and analysis department to produce financial reports on clients
  • Collating information on clients and producing briefing notes for partner conferences, speaker events and/or business development trips/client meetings
  • Making use of and encouraging secretaries, associates & partners to use the firm’s CRM system through best practice initiatives
  • Conducting research and analysis on clients and organisations
  • Where appropriate, to work with other BD colleagues and promote cross selling initiatives with other practice groups

You will have a minimum of 12 months’ business development (client facing) experience gained within a law firm or large professional services environment. You will also have excellent IT and written skills.
