This lovely law firm close to Oxford Circus has an exciting and challenging position, providing generalist HR support to a firm of circa 100 people. You will work directly alongside the HR Manager and will have a varied workload, incorporating both administrative and ‘hands-on’ HR duties.
Whilst this position will report to the HR Manager, you will be expected to work independently, and take an active role covering areas, including, record management, policy advice and development, recruitment, performance and development, employee relations and HR projects.
You will have contact with all members of the firm and you must be comfortable dealing with all types of staff/employees. An integral part of this position will be to communicate, both verbally and in writing, ensuring coherent and succinct advice.
Within the next six months a new HR and Payroll database will be introduced. The HR Assistant will be instrumental in collating data and assisting with the roll out. Once implement, this role, along with the HR Manager will ensure ongoing data maintenance.
Key duties will incorporate assisting with HR Administration, Employment law/ Office Procedures, Recruitment and onboarding, managing pay reward and benefits, training and development, performance management and employee relations
The ideal person will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- At least 6 months previous HR administration experience;
- Excellent IT skills, including Outlook, Excel, Word and SharePoint;
- Evidence of being a proactive, self-starter who can manage changing priories;
- Basic employment law knowledge;
- Ability to deal with pressure, and a can-do attitude;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Preferably educated to degree level;
- Candidates with professional services experience will be favoured over those applying from other sectors.
