Purpose of Role
To assist in the handling of a mixed EL / PL / Motor caseload within the Counter Fraud Team for a wide range of clients including major insurers, self-insureds, local authorities and insurance brokers.
Key Accountabilities
- To manage all client work allocated in accordance with the detailed procedures and quality standards contained in the firm’s manuals and client protocol
- At all times to exercise high standards of client care in a professional manner.
- To ensure the confidentiality of all the firm’s clients and client documentation and information
- To achieve agreed levels of billing and time recording.
- Comply with the Solicitors Accounts Rules and the Rules of the Professional Conduct of Solicitors in accordance with company guidelines.
- To update relevant case management systems when transferring files to a Litigator
- To ensure good working relationships with external institutions and organizations Monitor incoming faxes and distribute to employees in line with agreed SLAs
- To take responsibility for and attend self-development and training. Assist with the preparation of trial bundles, documents for enclosure with instructions to counsel or experts
- In conjunction with the firm to comply with the relevant training requirements of the Law Society.
- Technical processes: To use at all times where appropriate the predefined technical process of the team and in accordance with the client’s Service Level Agreement.
- Work on matter: To update technical processes on receipt of post on matter where a key date is involved. To document each activity that has taken place. To ensure each matter has a follow on diary action, as appropriate. To ensure file is kept in good order.
- Accounts: To ensure matters are billed at the appropriate stage of a claim with the relevant information passed to the Team Leader. Reserves to be kept up to date and under regular review.
- Conflicts, complaints and negligence: To ensure that all conflicts, complaints and potential acts of negligence are reported immediately to the designed official.
- File closure: To ensure files are closed in a timely manner.
Knowledge and Skills
- Experience in civil litigation preferable
- Excellent organizational skills
- Able to manage time effectively

- The ability to take a proactive approach and to work unsupervised
- Able to work effectively under pressure
