Data Protection Manager required to provide high quality support to global insuance business and to be an integral part of the in-house Legal and Compliance function, playing a leading role in ensuring compliance with its obligations under applicable data protection laws.
Key responsibilities:
- Promoting a data protection culture within the organisation and ensuring the successful implementation of the organisation's data protection programme.
- Keeping up to date on and advising the business on changes in data protection law in conjunction with the Legal team, and ensuring the timely review and development of the organisation's data protection programme, ensuring that the organisation's processes, policies and controls accurately reflect changes in legislation, practice and technology.
- Advising and working closely with the business on a range of data protection issues including, supporting data mapping and identifying where, how, why and what personal data is being processed, understanding operational processes and controls and supporting in the assessment of their effectiveness in mitigating data protection risks faced by the organisation.
- Advising and informing the business on data protection impact assessment, the roll-out of direct marketing campaigns, and personal data transfers outside of the EU.
- Overseeing the timely management of and response to data subject requests and other third party data protection queries.
