Senior Counsel - Commercial Transactions Europe and Africa

Our client is a global leader in the automotive sector with 75,000 employees in 33 countries worldwide and $17 billion in sales. The company is now searching for a Senior legal counsel to provide support for commercial transactions in the Europe and Africa region, as well as corporate and entity management matters.

The role

Based in Germany, the successful applicant, under the broad direction of the Director-Legal, EMEA for Europe and Africa, will provide legal advice on matters pertaining to the company's procurement, sales and corporate activities, assist the Director-Legal, EMEA in strategic initiatives and provide legal advice to drive the risk management strategy. This will include the review, drafting and negotiation of various types of sales and procurement contracts, including, but not limited to, OEM supply agreements, procurement issues, as well as corporate reorganisations, strategic initiatives and M&A projects. The role will require active engagement with internal clients, customers, vendors and other third parties, so a hands on commercial approach is essential.

The requirements

You will be a German qualified lawyer with several years' experience in a major law firm, multi-national corporation, or both. Experience as a transactional lawyer with an emphasis on complex commercial contracts and corporate law matters including M&A is required and experience in the automotive industry would be a plus.
