This an opportunity to join the legal department of a multinational steel and mining business, based in London's West End. Work on offer is a mix of corporate, shipping and commodities related work.
Client Details
Our Client is a world famous mining and steel business with large shipping operations around the world.
Description
The main duties with this role include:
- the review of legal documents and provision of support on negotiations of commercial contracts (goods and/or services), shipping contracts, sale of Iron Ore & Coal products, acquisition & sale of properties, settlement agreements, working capital arrangements, energy projects and corporate matters;
- provide legal advice and support to the mining business units in relation to risk assessments, strategic decisions, legal speciality areas (as appropriate);
- manage external counsels (as required);
- oversee and manage litigation and pre-litigation files as well as contractual claims.
Profile
The successful candidate will be likely to:
- be a UK qualified lawyer
- have at least 7 years of post qualification experience
- have trained and practiced at a top 50 chambers ranked law firm or alternatively within the in house legal team of an organisation operating in the mining, energy or shipping sectors.
