Lawyer- Business Support & Restructuring, Edinburgh

National law firm with an excellent reputation in the Scottish market is looking to hire an additional Associate to join their Business Support & Restructuring team, working as part of their Finance & Projects Group. This role will be based in Edinburgh. 

Role Profile:

The Business Support and Restructuring team have great expertise in areas such as company law, real estate, banking, employment and dispute resolution, giving us the resource and experience to deal effectively with all issues in a restructuring or financially-stressed scenario. The team acts for a number of funds and all major banks on restructuring and recovery instructions. 

The firm are looking for a qualified Lawyer to work on all aspects of distressed debt, restructuring, turnaround, recovery, and insolvency. Some of the work will be focused on property finance and distressed property finance projects, advising lender, investors and corporates on all aspects of real estate finance, with a particular expertise in distressed situations. You may also be working on a large number of debt portfolio sales, acquisitions and management for a variety of lenders and funds. 

Candidate Requirements:

• Candidates will ideally have 1+ years PQE and experience of restructuring/ recovery.
• Candidates should have excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn and develop commercial awareness.
• Additionally, you will be able to demonstrate you are able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced, challenging environment, where you will be required to meet tight deadlines.
